HURLING
The junior hurlers lost out to Kilmacow in their third round game of the JJ Kavanagh Junior League in Bennettsbridge on Sunday evening last. Conahy started slowly but fought back well to lead by 0-11 to 0-8 at half-time. However, Kilmacow took control in the early stages of the second half with a goal and a number of points. They held this advantage from there until the finish to win out by 1-19 to 0-18. Conahy are back in action this Sunday evening at 4.30 when they play Galmoy in Cloneen HC Grounds.

The under-16 hurlers had a good win over Cloneen in their most recent game in the Duggan Steel Under-16 Roinn C League/Championship in Cloneen on Friday night last. There were only a few scores between the teams at the halfway mark, but Conahy were the better team in the second half, and eventually won out by 2-20 to 1-9.

The minor hurlers are back in action next Monday night in the Kilkenny Vehicle Centre Roinn B League/Championship when they play host to Piltown in Jenkinstown at 7.00 p.m.

The under-14 hurlers played host to John Lockes in the Duggan Steel Roinn D League on Tuesday last. The young Conahy side battled bravely all through, but the physically stronger Callan boys were deserving winners in the end by 6-13 to 3-8.

Well done to Richie Rowe who was part of the Kilkenny Under-14 Academy Squad which took part in the National Day of Hurling last Saturday. Congratulations to Richie on this fine achievement and representing the club so well.

CAMOGIE
The intermediate camogie girls had a well deserved win in their first outing of the Abbott Intermediate league/championship campaign on Friday evening last when they got the better of Dicksboro. Despite Conahy enjoying a good start, the city side led by 2-6 to 1-7 at the break, the Conahy goal coming from Katie Brennan. But the locals upped their performance once again during the second half, and ran out winners by 1-16 to 2-10. Conahy are back in action in their second round game on this Sunday morning at 11.00 a.m. when they travel away to Mooncoin.
