HURLING

All roads lead to UPMC Nowlan Park this Saturday afternoon at 3.00 p.m. when the Conahy Shamrocks junior hurlers face Graignamanagh in the JJ Kavanagh Premier Junior County Final. Everyone in the locality is encouraged to come in and support the team on this big day for the club. A link to buy tickets will be shared via social media this week. Best of luck to the players and management in winning a fourth junior county title, having previously won in 1976, 2007 and 2020.

The minor hurlers ensured that Conahy Shamrocks supporters would have a second county final to look forward to when they had a good win over St. Martin’s in the Kilkenny Vehicle Centre Roinn B county semi-final in Canon Kearns Park on Saturday last. An early goal from Joe Boland set Conahy on their way, and with a second goal soon after from Rory Sherman, they went into half time leading 2-12 to 0-3. The second half was a closer affair, but a second Rory Sherman goal pushed Conahy further into the lead. In the end, they had plenty in reserve, winning by 3-17 to 0-8. Conahy will face either Carrickshock or Young Irelands in the county final, which will likely take place on Sunday, November 1st, with the time and venue yet to be decided.
